Woke up at 0730hrs, felt wetness and saw pinkish discharge - "SHOW". Hubby called up the labour ward and was told to go in for a check. At 0930hrs we reached The Portland hospital and was greeted by the receptionist. We were brought to the labour ward at 7th Floor. A kind lady came in to introduce herself as YM, my assigned midwife. After going through the urine and other test, I was strapped onto the CTG machine and our eyes were glued to the chart.
YM explained that my tummy was doing something but not enough.. She tried calling Pat but was not able to reach him. Her advice was to go for a walk for a few hours to induce labour. We were told to return to the hospital if the waterbag burst or if the contractions are 5mins apart. It was a busy day for Hubby as there were some happenings in the office. After settling his office work over the phone, we decided to take a bus down to Malaysia Hall for lunch. I was hoping that regular contractions will kick in very soon, but it proved to be a tall order for the womb. nothing much happened.
We decided to go for a walk at Kensington High Street. Hubby bought a shirt for his dad's birthday at the GAP store. I was getting very tired after a long walk and we decided to head back to the hospital. Midwife Y M strapped me on the CTG machine for the moment of truth. There were regular contractions or about 30-40 units in intensity. Midwife Y M called Mr O'brien and I was advised to rest home and wait for the true "madame labour" to arrive, for the waterbag to burst or for fresh blood bleeding. So we dragged our lugguage home.
After dinner, we decided to go for a walk. Before going out, there was a lumpy, sticky thingy on my panty liner!! Realised that it was Mucous Plug!!!! Jelly-like with string of blood strain!!! Quicky called my Hubby to take a look at it. Guess what he has done!!! He took a picture of my mucous plug!!! PENGZ!!!! Discovery channel ??!!
